Banana Eater!

We have different kinds of bananas in this country. Some has shorter length size than others. im not usually particular with the size and shape as long as its edible. there alot of ways that a banana can be use in recipes but my absolute favorite is the infamous banana-que. To all who have not yet know what this succulent dish looks like i took the liberty of uploading one myself. The one in particular are found near san jose or right across the university. Pretty much if you have an eye for food, you are bound to find yourself in the best places in the cities. Usually they are located in areas wherein alot of history has happen. Its wonderful to be in places carbon. Yes, the air is the breathtaking if you go to the market. im talking about just beside the heart of carbon. My mom use to say "money is found in carbon. that is where you get great find in cheaper prices." Anyways, there alot of places in the philippines that sell this mouth-watering snack. They not only sell this but also the turon (banana and jackfruit wrap in lumpia wrapper), "kolo"(i dont know the english for this one) camote fries and camote que. FYI camote is sweet potato in english. just to do a little info on how bananque and the rest of the crew i cooked. first preheat oil. peel the fruit. prepare brown sugar or we call it central here. pour one cup of the brown sugar in the heated oil. wait till you see bubble from the oil (that's when you know that the oil is ready or you could test the heat by using water). when its ready, put the bananas in and toss it from time to time till you get all the side of the fruit covered with sugar. let it set till the sugar is carmelized. You can tell if its done by just the carmelized sugar. toss it a few time again and then its done. use a tongs to get banana out of the pan. usually they serve it on a stick. U can conclude that the "que" is where it got its part in the name or you can use forks too. bon apetite! pretty much the other snacks are cook in the same way just pick what you love best. till the next banana eater episode...
